Our Process

The GID Process illustrates our obsession with quality.

Step 01 of 06

Receiving

  • All boards are visually inspected upon arrival and checked for damage.
  • All boards are photographed to document their condition.
Step 02 of 06

Initial Testing

  • Tests are performed to determine possible damage and to verify the various functions of the board.
  • After testing, the technician then determines what changes need to be made in order to bring the board up to GID standards.
Step 03 of 06

Refurbishment

  • All components with low MTBF numbers, such as capacitors, connectors, batteries and fans, are replaced.
  • Cosmetic issues are addressed and all boards are washed in our PCB cleaner.
Step 04 of 06

Repair Process

  • The diagnostic department determines the damage and repairs the board.
  • The board is fully tested to be sure it is repaired and functioning to our exact standards.
Step 05 of 06

Final Testing

  • Our technicians run a test on every board connection to be certain that everything works as it should.
  • It’s not enough for a GID board to just pass a boot/post test. Even the I/O of the board is tested to make sure the board does more than just “boot up”.
  • A final test is performed on all standard hardware. Before the work is forwarded to the shipping department, the board is certified to be sure everything works.
Step 06 of 06

Shipping

  • Once the board passes final testing, photos are taken to document its exterior condition.
  • To guard from damage due to Electro-Static Discharge (ESD), all boards are meticulously packed in ESD-safe packing materials and shipped back to the customer.
